Chinese American Business
Association of Minnesota (CABAM), headquartered in the Twin Cities
of Minnesota, is a non-profit, membership organization serving the
interests of the Chinese business community in Minnesota. CABAM
comprises members who are business owners of Chinese Americans,
and any businesses that have interest in Chinese market. The Association
is committed to improving the economic and social status of its
members and other Chinese American entrepreneurs in Minnesota.
The mission of the Chinese
American Business Association of Minnesota is:
· To support
and advocate the interests of CABAM members, and to contact community,
state and federal agencies on behalf of Chinese American business
owners in Minnesota.
· To promote and improve trade and commerce and the economic,
civic and social welfare in the State of Minnesota
· To assist Minnesota businesses to access to the market
opportunities in China taking advantage of China’s entrance
in the WTO.
· To organize business, education, culture and social exchange
programs between Minnesota and China.
Chinese entrepreneurship
can be traced back to 1863 when the first Chinese restaurant was
opened in St. Paul. Since then Chinese American owned businesses
have kept developing steadily. Currently, their businesses cover
broad areas from traditional industries to e-business solutions
including high tech manufacturing, construction, retail & wholesale,
import & export, Internet, software, advertisement, professional
services, healthcare, education, hospitality service, publication,
and food service. Among them are not only the companies that have
successful business for decades, but also the new stars in IT industry.
CABAM
will be a home for Chinese business community to share information
and experience in their business development and practice, to get
their voice heard by government agencies, legislature and general
public. With connections and networking with Chinese business, CABAM
members can provide consulting services to Minnesota companies that
are interested in the market opportunities in China. In addition
to business area, CABAM will also play an active role in many other
areas including economic, education, culture, and community activities.
